This study aimed at assessing teachers’ perceptions of EFL supervisors' role in enhancing teachers' linguistic competence and practices in Yemeni public secondary schools based on the perceptions of EFL teachers. The study also investigated the effect of the respondents’ gender and experience on their perceptions. This study attempted to answer the following questions: 1. What is the role of EFL supervisors in enhancing the teachers' linguistic competence and practices as perceived by EFL teachers in Yemeni public secondary schools? 2. To what extent are the EFL teachers' perceptions of the supervisors' roles in enhancing teachers' linguistic competence and practices in Yemeni public secondary schools affected by the teachers' gender and experience? 3. Is there any congruence between the teachers' perceptions concerning the supervisors' role and the supervisors' actual practices when they visit their teachers? 4. What do EFL supervisors and teachers suggest in order to improve EFL teachers' performance in Yemeni public secondary schools? The sample of the study consisted of all male and female EFL teachers of public secondary schools for the scholastic year 2008/2009 in Secretariat of the Capital Sana'a. The number of EFL teachers who responded to the questionnaire was 323 male and female teachers. The subjects of the study responded to a researcher’s designed questionnaire which consisted of 42 items distributed to seven supervisory domains. The same items of the questionnaire are reproduced as an observational checklist used by the researcher to record his observations of the supervisors' performances on visits to teachers, and there is an open-ended question for teachers and supervisors. In answering the questions of the study, the means, standard deviations, ANOVA and percentages of the responses were calculated and analyzed. Findings of the study indicated the following: 1. The EFL teachers ranked the role of the EFL supervisor as "middle" on the total domain which means that EFL supervisors did not follow satisfactory methods in their supervision. 2. There were differences within the teachers' perceptions due to gender in favor of the female teachers. 3. There were differences within the teachers’ perceptions due to experience in favor of teachers of ten years and more experience. 4. There was a high congruence between the viewpoint of teachers and the researcher's observational checklists in all domains except the training sessions domain where it was low. Based on the results of this study, the researcher suggests that there be an urgent need for policy-makers, researchers, supervisors and teachers to reframe their ideas about teaching in a way that serves the development of teaching at all levels. Finally, the researcher recommends that similar studies be conducted in other Yemeni cities.

الاتجاه نحو استخدام المختبرات الافتراضية في التعليم الالكتروني وعلاقته ببعض القدرات الإبداعية لدى عينة من طلاب وطالبات التعليم الثانوي العام في مدينة مكة المكرمة بالمملكة العربية السعودية

هدف البحث الكشف عن العلاقة بين الاتجاه نحو استخدام المختبرات الافتراضية وبعض القدرات الإبداعية (الطلاقة – المرونة – الأصالة). إلى جانب التعرف على الفروق في هذه القدرات الإبداعية وفقاً لتفاعل متغيرات الاتجاه نحو استخدام المختبرات الافتراضية في التعليم الالكتروني (مرتفع – منخفض)، والنوع (ذكور – إناث)، والصف الدراسي (ثان – ثالث). ولتحقيق هذا، تم تصميم استبانة الاتجاه نحو استخدام المختبرات الافتراضية في التعليم الالكتروني وحساب خصائصها السيكومترية من صدق وثبات، إلى جانب حساب صدق وثبات مقياس القدرات الإبداعية على عينة من طلاب وطالبات مدارس التعليم العام بمدينة مكة المكرمة.

Attitude Toward Using Virtual laboratories In Electronic Education and its Relationships With some Creativity Abilities for Male and Female Students in Secondary Schools in MAKKAH in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Abstract in English: 
The aim of the research is to find out the relationship between the attitude toward using virtual laboratories in electronic education and some creativity abilities (fluency, flexibility & originality). Further, it aimed to explore the differences in creativity abilities according to the variables of the attitude of using virtual laboratories in electronic education (high – low); gender (male – female) and study level (second – third). The attitude toward using virtual laboratories in electronic education questionnaire was designed, and its psychometric characteristics were computed. As well as, the validity and reliability of creativity abilities scale were computed in Saudia context. The sample consists of 520 male and female students from secondary schools, from scientific section and from second and third study level. The results indicated that there is positive and significant correlation between the attitude toward using virtual laboratories in electronic education and some creativity abilities. Furthermore, the results yielded that the male students who their attitude toward using virtual laboratories in electronic education in high and in third study level are more creative. The results were interpreted, and some suggestions and future researches are required

Evaluating the Content of Islamic Jurisprudence Course
Abstract in English: 
Abstract Evaluating the Content of Islamic Jurisprudence Course Of First Secondary School in the light of Quality Standards in K.S.A. The purpose of this study was to identify the standards of quality and its indicators, which should be constructed in the light of the content of Islamic Jurisprudence Course, in secondary school. Also, it aimed to identify the extent of these standards\\\' availability in the course of Islamic Jurisprudence of first Secondary School. Furthermore, it aimed to identify the differences in availability degree of such standards according to the nature of the work and the place of application. The descriptive, analytical and survey approach were used, as it harmonizes with the aims of the study. A questionnaire was designed and its validity and reliability were measured. The sample was selected randomly from six different regions from K.S.A, and it consisted of (154) teachers and (46) supervisors. To investigate the hypotheses of the study, the researcher used Chi Square Test for good matching, T- test and One Way ANOVA test. The study reached these results: 1- A list of the standards of content quality and its indicators, which should be available with the content of Islamic Jurisprudence Course of the first secondary school was reached to. This list contained four main fields that have 915) standards and (82) indictors. These four main fields were as followed: • The field of designing the introduction of the content, and its supportive resources. It has two standards and (15) indicators. • The field of designing the content and its building, and it has (7) standards and (33) indicators. • The field of designing the content and its presentation, and it has (4) standards and (21) indicators. • The field of writing the texts of the content and its direction, and it has two standards and (31) indicators. 2- Also, the standards of content quality in the course of Islamic Jurisprudence have were achieved with different degrees, according to the indicators of each standard and the total degree of the standard. The standards of the first field and the total field were achieved completely, within percentage ranged from 35.3 to 81, 8%. The standards of the second field and the total filed were achieved with percentages ranged from 41, 6 to 72, and 1%. The standards of the third field and the total filed were achieved with percentages ranged from 43, 9 to 77, and 3%. As for the standards of the fourth field and the total filed were achieved with percentages ranged from 61, 4 to 89, 9%. The quality standards of the book generally were achieved with rate of 59%. 3- Also, the study results concluded that there were no differences between the sample group in their evaluation of the standards of quality of the content of Islamic Jurisprudence Course, and the total degree of the fields, according to the nature of work (Teacher- Supervisor). 4- There were no differences between the sample group in their evaluation to the standards of quality of the content of Islamic Jurisprudence course, and the total degree of fields according to the place of application. The study concluded many recommendations, from which; - Developing the content of Islamic Jurisprudence Course in the light of the quality standards to achieve its goals. - Evaluating the content of Islamic Jurisprudence Course in the first stage of secondary school in the light of standards of quality and its indicators that were reached in the recent study in the fields of: designing the introduction of the content and its supportive resources, designing and building the content, organizing and presenting the content, and writing content texts and its direction.
