After serving for about 5 years (2.5 years with SP and the rest with Christian Health Service Corps) in Ghana, it was made clear to us that we would be coming back to the U.S. for a period of time. After my time in El Paso, TX, I had the opportunity to go back to Ft Lewis, WA and complete a fellowship in endoscopy. Thirty years ago I came to JPS as a Family Medicine Intern and I liked it so much I never left! Graduates are proven leaders in their communities at local, state, and national levels. From caring for my own patients at Stop Six Clinic, to delivering babies, to working with outstanding residents in their own clinics, to developing medical education curriculum as the family medicine clerkship director at the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine, I can’t think of a more perfect place to do what I love. I met and married my lovely wife, Lori, while in medical school in Memphis, TN, and we now have 4 wonderful kids (3 girls and a boy). JPS embraces a wide range of diverse clinical practices and interests. After graduating with a Biology degree from Abilene Christian University, I attended Texas Tech University for medical school. Graduates are proven leaders in their communities at local, state, and national levels. I also love the outdoors and have been a wilderness and white water rafting guide in Colorado. I chose JPS for residency because of its focus on providing care to the underserved, global health program, and community of individuals with a similar mission.
