The current study aims at identifying the views of the residents of Jerusalem District on the causes of happiness and its relationship with some variables especially after the exacerbation of their psychological, political, economic and social circumstances. This situation has increased their life burdens and led to a rise in the anxiety rates especially when ones quest for happiness becomes a very strenuous and cumbersome challenge. What makes the study one of the pioneer field studies in this regard is that it has tackled the causes of happiness in the field, while other studies have addresses it from theoretical perspective only; accordingly, the causes for happiness were measured procedurally as it is stated in the study tool. The significance of the study lies in the fact that it addresses a very important subject in Jerusalem city which has a unique status quo due to the state of siege and instability it is suffering from. In order to answer the several questions of the study and to verify its hypotheses, the two researchers have developed a questionnaire to measure the causes of happiness of the residents of Jerusalem District. The study measuring tool was distributed on a sample of 250 male and female residents of Jerusalem. The sample was selected using a random stratified method in accordance with the place of living variable. The total size of the sample was 0.06% of the study population. Following collection of data, they were statistically processed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science). The study reached several important results, the most important of which are: The views of the residents of Jerusalem District on the causes of happiness were high. Moreover, results have shown that the most important causes for happiness are self confidence, modesty, gratitude, acceptance of what God allocated to one and belief in fate and destiny respectively. The study has concluded that there are significant statistical differences in the views of the residents of Jerusalem District on the causes of happiness in relation to the independent variables of the study namely, (Level of education, level of belief, place of living, social status and age) On the other hand, there were no significant statistical differences in relation to (gender, religion, and monthly salary variables) .
